FAQs
Q: What types of motorcycles do you paint? A: We've never met a motorcycle we didn't like. Obviously we can't do the swap if we don't have inventory of your type of sheetmetal but we are willing to paint almost anything. Send us the metal and we'll make you proud of it!
Q: Do you do graphics?

A: Yes, within our scope. Send us an example (or tell us) what you would like and we will try to accommodate. We dont do "murals" but we do know people who can.

Q: If send you my parts (tank, fenders ...) will you paint them?

A: Yes. In fact we prefer to paint your sheetmetal. It leaves no doubt as to fit, function, and condition of the metal.
We do offer a trade in "like for like" for sheetmetal we have in inventory but that requires a "deposit" which, of course, is refunded upon receipt of your qualified (undamaged) sheetmetal. The latter also lessens down time since you can swap and ride in the same day.

Q: What is included in the price quote? A: When we say a "set" that includes two fenders and a tank. We will paint side covers but discourage it for several reasons: 1. The bike tends to look "overdone" with the side covers painted. Some are OK, most are not. 2. In most cases the factory offers great looking chrome for that "custom" look. 3. They are a pain to paint, cut and polish, and we charge accordingly. It's your call! Oil sacks also look good chrome but we will always paint to suit the customers needs!
Q: Will you do the colors I like? A: Absolutely! What we have found to work well is a combined effort. You give us direction, we make suggestions and come to terms with your likes and dislikes. Our staff artist creates fantastic pieces based on the customers wishes combined with his expertise.
Q: What about shipping?
A: We generally package the tank separately from the fenders. Two packages approximately twenty and thirty pounds each are prepared with generous helpings of bubble wrap and popcorn. If you send us your sheetmetal, please make certain it is well wrapped. Take photos of the metal as proof that it was undamaged when you shipped it. The tank is especially vulnerable since it doesn't "give" like the fenders. We have had several tanks come in damaged due to poor packaging. You can estimate shipping costs by going to your favorite shippers web site and punch in the numbers. Usually we ship FedEx but we arrange to suit.
Q: Can you paint one piece now and another at a later date? A: Not a good idea. Paint application varies from batch to batch due to a number of factors (gun adjustments, temperature, glitter components, etc. etc.). Matching is tough. It's also more expensive since more paint and man hours are wasted in clean up and prep.
Q: What about the quality of your paint job?
A: We start by using House of Kolor, PPG, and Xotic products which we believe are among the finest paint products on the market. Many custom rods and bikes wear the beautiful colors created by this outstanding paint manufacturer. Our sheetmetal is prepped, then primed with a two part epoxy primer. A sealer coat is applied which is covered by a base coat (this can be a plain color or a candy base). Then a light interclearcoat provides the base for the flames (or graphics) which are airbrushed on. We can also substitute another true candy coat for the interclear to give special effects such as a candy apple base with a cherry candy cover to give it awesome depth and a unique tone. Now the whole shooting match is clear coated (usually three or four coats), cut and polished for that "mile deep" look.
Q: How long is turn around time?
A: Given good weather, we generally need three to four full weeks to turn out a set. There will be times where we wont let them leave do to a defect or a customer dislike. That will take a bit longer to fix or re-paint but be assured your project is the highest priority for us! We take them one at a time and they certainly won't leave here until we are happy with the results (and that takes a bit of doing!) Patience is a must!
